Carla Den Ouden (she/her)

Provisional Psychologist

Carla is a warm and strengths-focused provisional psychologist completing her final placement while undertaking the Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) at the University of Melbourne. With six years of experience working alongside young people as a disability support worker, she brings a compassionate, grounded and thoughtful approach to her therapeutic work.


Carla has experience in both hospital and community settings and is passionate about supporting children and adolescents through challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, body image, and interpersonal relationships. She values building a safe and collaborative space where young people feel heard and empowered. Her work is guided by a deep belief in each person’s capacity for growth and resilience.


Carla incorporates the following evidence-based interventions into her practice:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Mindfulness-based approaches.
